Why Should I see a Registered Dietitian (RD)?

To improve your health or help manage an existing medical condition our RD will:

  • Assess your nutritional status by looking at your diet and medical history
  • Use science-based information to help you make and reach nutrition related goals
  • Meet with you to follow your on-going progress.

How Can My RD Help Me?

Our RD provides individual counseling and medical nutrition therapy on topics including:

  • Abnormal Cholesterol Levels
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Prediabetes and Diabetes
  • Malnutrition
  • Nutrition during Conception Planning, Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
  • Feeding Babies and Children
  • Stomach and Bowels Problems (i.e. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Diverticular Disease, Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac Disease)
  • Osteoporosis/Bone Health
  • Food Allergies and Intolerances
  • Vitamins and Minerals
  • Vegetarian and Vegan Eating

What Happens At A RD Visit?

The first visit is 60 minutes and includes an initial nutrition assessment including medical history and lifestyle habits. You and your RD will set realistic goals and talk about new food ideas.

Follow up visits are 30-60 minutes and include:

  • A review of old and make new goals about ahealth lifestyle to optimize your nutritional status.
  • Get answers to nutrition questions
  • Learn about group classes that may provide additional support to help manage health conditions
